Councilor-elect Dan Strickland will be sworn in June 23, with his first day on July 1. Ranson Forward updates continue here.

Councilor-elect Dan Strickland - Ranson Forward

Thank You, Ranson!
Now, Let's Get to Work.

We ran a campaign on neighbor-first leadership, and together, we won. As your incoming City Councilor, I am preparing to turn our vision into action after the June 23 swearing-in and my first day on July 1.

Welcome to your hub for plain-English updates, total transparency, and practical progress.

The Ranson Infrastructure Map is live.

Residents can now flag potholes, sidewalks, streetlights, crosswalks, sinkholes, drainage, and other visible infrastructure concerns in one public tool. The map turns neighborhood reports into a clearer work queue for Ranson Forward follow-up.

Accessible Leadership. Total Transparency. No Guessing.

My commitment to you didn't end at the ballot box. As we move forward, I will stay visible, accessible, and hyper-focused on the things you experience every single day: safer streets, dependable services, and a city government that actually works for its residents.

You deserve to know exactly what is happening in City Hall. That's why I am making a pledge of total transparency. Right here on this website, you'll be able to follow along with my work. You will see exactly how I vote on City Council and, more importantly, why.

I'll provide plain-English updates so you're always in the loop. No jargon, no closed doors, and no guessing.

  • Accessible Leadership

Visible, reachable, and focused on the everyday issues residents actually experience.

  • Vote Transparency

Clear updates on how Dan votes on City Council, once the term begins, and why those decisions were made.

  • Plain-English Updates

No jargon, no closed doors, and no guessing about what is happening in City Hall.

  • Practical Progress

Safer streets, dependable services, and city basics that work for Ranson residents.

Our First 180 Days: The #RansonForward Agenda

Change doesn't happen overnight, but progress starts immediately. For my first 180 days in office, I am laser-focused on two primary pillars to make an immediate impact on our daily lives.

Reliable Services & Infrastructure

Getting the basics right. We are going to tackle everyday infrastructure head-on and make the visible issues residents report part of the work plan.

  • Address persistent road and street concerns.
  • Map gaps in sidewalk connectivity and improve crosswalk visibility.
  • Identify and follow up on broken or damaged streetlights.

Drainage, Sinkholes & Winter Readiness

Infrastructure work has to be practical and seasonal. Over the next six months, we will push for clear follow-up on drainage, sink-hole concerns, and winter-weather readiness.

  • Get to the bottom of drainage and sink-hole concerns.
  • Proactively address city concerns before winter weather hits.
  • Use resident reports to make follow-up easier to track.

Community Connectivity

Unifying our city. Ranson is only as strong as its most overlooked neighborhood. Equal representation means every corner of Ranson has to be heard.

  • Listen across every ward and neighborhood.
  • Focus on areas lacking sidewalks, lighting, and basic infrastructure.
  • Make residents feel seen, heard, and represented.

One Ranson

Some neighborhoods are not fully incorporated, many lack basic infrastructure, and residents across all wards have expressed feeling unheard. We are going to change that.

  • Honor Ranson's unique character.
  • Harness our collective power.
  • Work to finally unify this city.

Use the Infrastructure Map

The map is the fastest way to turn a visible issue into something that can be reviewed, organized, and followed up on.

Ranson Deserves Leadership That Shows Up

I'm not a career politician. I'm a husband, a father of five, a U.S. Army Military Police Officer and Veteran, and a business owner. I've spent my career solving problems - in the Army, in government contracting, in global consulting, and in building businesses across five states (and growing).

But more than any of that, I'm a Ranson resident. My kids go to school here. My family's future is tied to this city's future. And I believe Ranson is uniquely positioned for success - if we prepare for opportunity instead of just reacting to growth.

"I want Ranson to reflect the best of Main Street America: safe, well-run, and welcoming for families, seniors, and small businesses. That's what I'm working for."
