Ranson Forward Investment
A protected lockbox fund to help essential workers live in Ranson and pay for lighting, sidewalks, small infrastructure fixes, and high-impact maintenance.
Ranson City Council - June 2, 2026
Ranson is growing - and that's a good thing, if we can get the leadership right. I'm Dan Strickland, and I'm running for Ranson City Council to deliver responsive services, clear priorities, and the kind of steady, accountable leadership our city deserves.
Ranson, West Virginia is at a crossroads. With 5.7% annual growth and a population that just crossed 6,000, we have real opportunity ahead - but only if we protect what makes this city home while preparing for what's next. This isn't about politics. It's about neighbors taking care of neighbors - and a city taking care of its citizenry.

RFI keeps Ranson livable, RC3 makes it feel like home, the Historic District protects our identity, and no data centers keeps growth aligned with our future.
A legally protected fund for essential-worker residency support and visible neighborhood upgrades, funded by large employers - not resident tax increases.
A site-first, plan-first community hub for families, youth, seniors, veterans, and neighborhood services.
Clear standards, safer walkability, ADA-first improvements, lighting, streetscape upgrades, and stronger support for small businesses.
A clear position to protect West Virginia culture, quality of life, infrastructure, neighborhoods, and growth that actually fits Ranson.
These commitments turn the concerns I hear at doors into a practical plan: livability, community, local identity, and growth that protects residents first.
A protected lockbox fund to help essential workers live in Ranson and pay for lighting, sidewalks, small infrastructure fixes, and high-impact maintenance.
A real home base for programs, events, youth activities, senior access, community services, and partnerships that bring neighbors together.
Protect Ranson's character with plain-English standards, ADA-first walkability upgrades, better lighting, streetscape improvements, and small-business support.
Ranson should not become a data center town. We need development standards that protect neighborhoods, infrastructure, culture, and quality of life.
Major development decisions should come with transparent summaries residents can understand before the vote, not after the damage is done.
Prioritize light industrial, skilled trades, healthcare-support, and locally owned small businesses - jobs that strengthen services without overloading infrastructure.
Follow key campaign updates, voter tools, and election-day support features as they go live.

Read ArticleI'm not a career politician. I'm a husband, a father of five, a U.S. Army Military Police Officer and Veteran, and a business owner. I've spent my career solving problems - in the Army, in government contracting, in global consulting, and in building businesses across five states (and growing).
But more than any of that, I'm a Ranson resident. My kids go to school here. My family's future is tied to this city's future. And I believe Ranson is uniquely positioned for success - if we prepare for opportunity instead of just reacting to growth.
